Due to the increase in wages and feed, we have had to slightly increase the price of our lesson fees.
The new price list is available down below and will take effect from the 1st September 2023
At Sterntaler we offer a wide variety of lessons for all different age groups and experience levels. We have numerous school horses for riders accommodating their different levels of experience. Our friendly coaches are experienced in teaching young children through to adult beginners and competition riders. We cater for nervous and inexperienced adults and children as well as ambitious and competitive riders. Our fully surfaced dressage arena also has lights, so we offer school lessons on weekday evenings. Currently, our new indoor arena is in the construction process, but when completed we will be able to cater for everyone's needs no matter the weather.
At Sterntaler we are committed to safe operating procedures, so prior to booking lessons we have some requirements of our clients. We require two forms to be completed and submitted.
The two forms below - Risk Waiver and Confidential Riding Application & Medical History - must be completed and submitted to Sterntaler prior to the rider's first lesson and will need to be updated annually

If you do not have riding clothes, we ask you to wear long pants and enclosed shoes, preferably with a small heel. All riders are required to wear an approved safety helmet while mounted. If you do not own your own approved helmet we can provide one for you.

Bookings are essential. Please use the Hopoti booking and payment system below.
Lessons are booked back to back, so please arrive 10 minutes early to allow plenty of time to adjust equipment and meet the horse and coach. Lesson time includes leading your horse up to the arena and finishes once you have dismounted at the main gate.

Please note we have a surcharge on all lesson types only on public holidays, excluding camps.

Please provide us with 24 hours notice if you can't attend your lesson so we can reschedule it for another day, otherwise the lesson fee is non- refundable. Exceptions may be made for special circumstances - in that case, please contact management on 0412203888.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are half hour or one hour lessons tailored to the individual rider’s level of skill and experience in dressage or jumping, and the basics for beginners.
SHARED LESSONS
Shared lessons are half hour or one hour lessons for two riders of a similar riding ability.

GROUP LESSONS
Group lessons are a one hour riding lesson with three or more riders.
HALF AND FULL DAYS
​
Full day lessons start at 9.00 am and finish at 4.00 pm. Half day lessons are from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon or from 12.30 pm to 4.00 pm and are available every Saturday and Sunday and daily in school holidays.

The half and full days allow the children to learn a lot more about the horses as well as making new friends with a similar interest in horses. The half day includes a one hour group riding lesson with approximately six riders to a group. The full day package includes two one hour riding lessons - one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Please provide your own lunch.
Children who have never ridden before or unable to trot unaided are encouraged to attend private lessons before joining the day groups.
LADIES MORNINGS
Sterntaler offers Ladies Mornings every Friday during school term. Ladies mornings include a one hour group lesson followed by morning tea, provided by us. The ride starts at 10.00 am

AFTER SCHOOL LESSONS
Group lessons are held every Tuesday and Friday at 5.00 pm during school term. Half and full hour lessons are also available daily.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES
If you are interested in your child experiencing a Sterntaler Birthday party, they are offered on Saturdays or Sundays from 12.30 noon until approximately 2.30 pm.
The children get to brush the ponies, plait ribbons in their manes and have a one hour group ride with basic instruction and games on horseback. We provide drinks, lollies and a personalized birthday cake after the ride.
Minimum 4 people.

At Sterntaler Equestrian Services we also provide opportunities for EA Coach training.
We are fortunate to have regular access to two highly respected Coaches and Coach Educators, Robert Stewart and Ron Patterson. Both Rob and Ron come monthly and are currently registered and qualified EA Coach Educators.
Through this access, Sterntaler can provide EA Certification in both riding and horse management, as well as help coaches progress through the coaching syllabus at any level.
Our clients can learn the basics of teaching correctly and proceed step by step through the syllabus and workbooks to obtain accreditation, or assist potential coaches to obtain their EA Coaching accreditation.
Rob and Ron are both patient & experienced Coaches and Coach Educators, interested in seeing people attain their own accreditation.
At Sterntaler, we have many quiet & experienced school horses to enable students to practice their lunging techniques as well as individual teaching or group lesson skills.

RIBBON DAYS
Our Ribbon Days are held every 4 to 6 weeks, Dates will be available on this website and on Facebook.
The children participate in games such as rider class, pairs, bareback, jumping, barrels and bending.
Ribbon Days are great fun and are encouraging for all levels of riders. This is a great way for everyone t0 make friends with others who share a similar love of horses. Ribbon Days provide a great opportunity to introduce competitions to all riders.
These usually run all day from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm
