Martina Kovacs

Sterntaler was established by Martina in 2002.

Martina is an accredited EFA level 1 Coach and is currently training

to become a level 2 Coach. She has competed extensively in EA

Eventing up to and including 3* 3DE all over Australia, as well as in Dressage and Showjumping competitions .

Martina  currently competes in all 3 Olympic disciplines with several young Warmbloods and Thoroughbreds, and also with our handsome, black Warmblood stallion 'Sterntaler Rendezvous'.

Martina's aim is to create harmony between horse and rider through improving the rider's skill and feel, as well as developing their balance and confidence. It is impotent to her that  horse and rider enjoy the work equally  and develop a partnership.

Martina is experienced in recognizing what is important in order for riders to overcome fear and feel safe with horses, and promotes confidence in the horses that she trains.

Martina is passionate about horses and about her role as an instructor and coach. She loves and values all aspects of working with horses, whether it be as a competitive rider or simply teaching a young horse to lead  and lunge.

Martina  takes 'Team Sterntaler' out to competitions and has taught many riders from the beginner stage through to becoming successful competition riders.

I have been coaching riders for 40 years. I am passionate about helping people to find the magic of connecting with the horse that they are riding. Now specialising in dressage, I have personally produced and competed dressage and eventing horses to FEI levels. I have riders currently competing at FEI level that started with me as children. I look forward to helping you to develop as a rider while showing you how to have fun and stay safe on your journey towards true horsemanship.

I’ve been part of the Sterntaler Family since 2003. I hold a certificate IV in Mental health, along with an Introductory Coaching qualification in General Riding. Recently I just completed my Diploma in Counselling with a specialisation in Equine Therapy, My passion is dressage, and I regularly compete with my horse, Henry Muggins. Guided by Sterntaler’s values of compassion, connection, and the joy of riding, I bring a calm and supportive approach to my instruction. I’m also working in collaboration with Martina to develop an Equine Therapy program at Sterntaler, combining my love of horses with my counselling experience to support personal growth and wellbeing through the unique bond between horse and human.

I've been riding at Sterntaler for 9 years now and working here for 8. I started as a helper with feeding, gradually working my way up to becoming a riding coach. I've completed my Intro Coaching Certification and am excited to pursue my Level 1 Certification in the future.

The most rewarding part of teaching is seeing my riders experience that "light bulb moment" when everything clicks for them, I instruct a wide range of experience, adjusting how I teach. My favourite discipline is show jumping, and I've had the opportunity to place in some competitions while riding the horse I'm leasing, Tommy. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

I have been riding at Sterntaler for over eight years and instructing for just over two years. I have completed my EA Introductory Horse Management course and am currently undertaking EA riding and coaching accreditations.

My primary discipline is dressage, while also training and competing in showjumping. I am currently working with two horses: my Belgian Warmblood, Conquistadors Lachlan, and my lease horse, a Warmblood x Andalusian, named Ace.

I am passionate about continuing my development within the equestrian industry and further building my skills as both a rider and a coach

I’ve been teaching at Sterntaler Equestrian Services for about six months, and I also agist my two horses here. I compete at Preliminary level dressage with my horse Gilbert, who keeps me on my toes and constantly learning. My favourite part of teaching is helping riders find their confidence and enjoy their time with horses as much as I do. There’s nothing better than seeing someone smile after a great ride.
