Sterntaler Equestrian Services is a professionally operated riding school conveniently located at Buchanan, minutes from the Hunter Valley Expressway and within easy driving distance from Maitland,
Newcastle and Singleton.

At Sterntaler we welcome riders of all ages and levels of
experience. We pride ourselves in providing quality
riding and horsemanship instruction on our
own well trained, experienced school horses
and ponies, or you may wish to bring
your own horse.
​
Our instructors are very encouraging &
experienced at teaching beginner and intermediate
level riders in all aspects of horse riding as well
as tuition in the Olympic disciplines of
Jumping, Eventing and Dressage.
​
Martina Kovacs started the business in
2002 and is available to teach the more
advanced riders and coach competition riders.
We offer regular clinics with Robert Stewart – Level 3
Showjumping coach and former International Showjumping &
Eventing rider and Ron Patterson - Level 3 Dressage Coach and International Dressage Judge, to bring specialist training to our clients at Sterntaler. Both Robert & Ron are also Equestrian Australia Coach Educators and can assist interested coaches work towards achieving their EA coaching accreditation.

How lucky are we.
Our aim is to provide safe, friendly and educational lessons to allow each rider to reach their individual goals. Whether it be the first steps of trot and canter or improving your riding position and balance. We can help you to become a confident and better skilled competitor and achieve harmony with your horse in your riding, as well as helping riders and coaches develop in the sport.

We offer holiday camps for children and teenagers every school holiday and some weekends. Why not drop the children off and spend some time at the nearby Hunter Valley vineyards?

Sterntaler also breeds Warmblood horses for training in the Olympic disciplines. Our stock are bred to some of the most influential Australian and International Thoroughbred & Warmblood stallions. We would welcome the opportunity to show you our stock should you be looking for your next champion or partner to train and compete.

Sterntaler Christmas PARTY; Saturday 16/12
We have plenty of gift ideas for Christmas, from shirts, caps, vests, gift certificates for lessons and camps. We would be happy to put together a gift pack if required.

We are open every day of the school holidays for half days, full days, half hour private lessons and one hour private lessons. The only days we close are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, all other days there is lessons and camps as normal. We are happy to cater camps to your needs, should you require dates different to those on our Camp section of the website, please contact Martina to Discuss.
Bring your own horse or ride one of our quiet school horses. All meals and overnight stay are included in the holiday camps.
